Issues

Piney-Z is a wonderful neighborhood, and we face all the challenges of a growing and vital community.  The CDD board members are particularly suited to address many of these issues.

¨ Currently, many residents don’t even know the CDD exists.  I will communicate openly and actively with the residents of Piney-Z and encourage other board members to do so.

¨ Have you noticed the new homes being built on the corner of Heritage Park and Doyle Conner?  Love them or hate them, they are going to be party of the Piney-Z community.  I will work with residents, local officials and the HOA to make sure that future development is well-planned and fits in with our existing architectural standards.

¨ Many Piney-Z issues overlap with municipal issues, so its important to be in communication with commissioners about Piney-Z’s needs. I will be your liaison to city and county leaders in Tallahassee.

¨ I will be the homeowners’ advocate on the CDD.  I pledge to listen to any and all concerns of residents of Piney-Z and put the community first.  Developers and developments should not be given preference over residents.

¨ I will endeavor to publish and distribute an annual CDD report to all residents so that they may be better informed about the their CDD and community.

¨ I pledge to be fiscally responsible in the assessment and disposition of CDD taxes, and diligent in the retirement of our CDD debt.

¨ Many CDDs, including Southwood’s, have extensive websites for their residents.  I want to update, expand and improve the existing Piney-Z CDD website to include easier access to contact information and content.

¨ In the past there has been confusion about the responsibilities of the CDD and the Homeowner’s Association.  I will work with the Piney-Z HOA to avoid future overlap or conflicts in such responsibilities.

¨ Finally, I pledge to represent residents of Piney-Z to the best of my abilities, with conviction, enthusiasm and thoughtfulness.
