About Beth Matuga

 

Beth Matuga, a native of Florida’s Space Coast, attended high school at Melbourne Central Catholic, a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, in Brevard County.  Beth came to Tallahassee in 1999 to attend The Florida State University after being honorably discharged from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

 

Beth began working full-time in government and politics while still an undergraduate student.  In 2003, she received her BS in English Literature, magna cum laude.  In 2004, she purchased her home in Piney-Z.  Beth completed her Master’s degree in Applied American Politics and Policy in just 11 months and received the degree in 2006. 

 

She is active in her community, volunteering with the Leon County Humane Society and is the director of the Boyd Family Annual Charity Dove Hunt, which raised more than $133,000 for charity in 2007.  Beth is a member of the Florida 4-H Foundation’s state board of directors and the State of Florida DEC.  Beth is currently an adjunct professor teaching a graduate course in campaign finance at Florida State.

 

Since 2006, she has worked for our local United States  Congressman.  She continues to work full-time in local, state and federal politics, consulting for several campaigns.  Her boyfriend of 6 years, Brian, works for the State of Florida in computer technology.  Their dog, Shady, was adopted from the Leon County Humane Society.  Beth is proficient in translating Classical Latin and enjoys good food, good wine and good friends.

 

She is honored to be the newest CDD Supervisor and is eager to work to make Piney-Z better.
